About Dolphin Encounters on Blue Lagoon Island, Bahamas

Dolphin Encounters — Blue Lagoon Island, just three miles from Nassau, is a family-owned marine park and one of the top-rated attractions in The Bahamas.

Founded in 1989 when two rescued Atlantic bottlenose dolphins were relocated to a large, natural seawater habitat, the facility has grown into a premier center for marine education, conservation, and immersive wildlife experiences

In 2006, we expanded our marine family by rescuing six California sea lions displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Guests can now enjoy exceptional programs featuring both dolphins and sea lions in their natural lagoon home.

Dolphin Encounters offers more than animal encounters—we provide full-day experiences: beach access, water sports, BBQ lunch, eco-tours, and family-friendly activities on our serene island paradise. Our safe, natural habitat spans over three acres of crystal-clear lagoon and white-sand beach.

With a strong commitment to education, conservation, and authentic Bahamian hospitality, we inspire and engage guests to deepen their understanding of marine ecosystems and environmental stewardship.

Blue Lagoon Island – Mission Statement
